Perhaps no one expected the automotive electric revolution to sweep across America as quickly as it did, but here we are. Americans are purchasing EVs in record numbers, and that demand has given way to impressive innovation. In fact, all-electric pickup trucks and sports utility vehicles are coming to market at least a decade earlier than many industry insiders expected. Chevrolet introduced its Silverado EV. Ford introduced its F-150 Lightning. But the most highly anticipated of all is the Ram Revolution. Melloy Ram is the premier Ram dealer serving Albuquerque Las Cruces Santa Fe Los Lunas, and in this Ram Revolution concept review, we’ll explore everything that we know about it.
The Ram Revolution concept features a breathtaking design that eschews the ruggedness of the standard Ram 1500 in favor of sleek lines and pronounced visual cues. All models will have a four-door crew cab. This configuration is by far the most popular with the standard Ram 1500, and there is now word yet if Ram might add a quad cab or even a regular cab. All models have Ram’s short bed, which measures 5 feet 7 inches, but will also have an integrated extender that allows carrying items up to 18-feet long even with the tailgate closed. A 50/50-split multifunction tailgate is standard, and the base equipment package also features the latest iteration of the RamBox cargo management system.
The cabin is certainly among the highlights of any Ram Revolution concept review. Ram has struck an impressive balanced between upscale and futuristic. A centerpiece of the design is a multifunction console with a keyboard that is in addition to a landscape-oriented center touch screen. The Ram Revolution concept is a three-row vehicle. The first and second rows have performance bolstered seating. The third row, which has led some to surmise that the Ram Revolution is as much SUV as pickup, are easily removable jump seats, which give you flexibility as does the pass-through storage.
Ram has been rather tight lipped when it’s come to the mechanical aspects of the Ram Revolution. We do know that the Ram Revolution is based on the STLA Frame architecture and that it will feature a dual-motor configuration, which means that all-wheel drive will be the standard drive layout. Based on other Stellantis EVs, we can speculate that the Ram Revolution will support Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 charging connections and that you’ll be able to charge 100 miles in 10 minutes at a DC fast-charging station.
As of this writing, Ram hasn’t released any numbers regarding horsepower, torque, battery size and range. Industry insiders expect the range to be more than the 400 miles that Chevrolet and GM claim for the Silverado and Sierra EVs. You should also expect at least 750 horsepower and 10,000 pounds of towing capacity. We also know that four-wheel steering will be standard equipment.
Ram hasn’t announced all of the advanced driver-assistance technologies just yet. However, the team at Melloy Ram has learned that most of those features will be included in the standard package, and as part of the reveal, Ram announced Level 3+ autonomous control, automated parking, self-leveling capabilities, voice activation and control, biometric recognition and much more.
The team at Melloy Ram encourages you to reach out to us if you have any questions not answered in our Ram Revolution concept review or would like to be kept updated as new details become available. You can be among the first to test-drive the Revolution at our dealership serving Albuquerque Las Cruces Santa Fe Los Lunas, and you can be among the first to reserve and then own the Revolution.
